Cookies Policy

Introduction

GGQUEST LABS PTE. LTD., the company that operates gg.xyz (“we,” “our,” or “us”), is committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring compliance with applicable data protection laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), and the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). This Cookie Policy explains how and why we use cookies on our website, the types of cookies we use, your choices regarding cookies (including how to opt out of non-essential cookies), and how we uphold industry best practices in managing cookie data. We aim to be clear and transparent so you can understand how cookies impact your experience on gg.xyz.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device as you browse. Your web browser stores these cookies and sends them back to the website on each subsequent visit. Cookies serve important functions – for example, they can enable core site features, remember your preferences, and help us understand how users interact with our site. In themselves, cookies are harmless and intended to improve your experience. However, because some cookies can collect information linked to you, we want you to know exactly how we use them.

Types of Cookies We Use

We use cookies to provide essential functionality and to analyze site usage. We do not use any third-party advertising cookies. Below we describe each category of cookies used on gg.xyz:

1. Essential Cookies (Strictly Necessary)

These cookies are necessary for our website to function properly. They enable core features such as page navigation, security, and user login sessions. For example, an essential cookie might keep you logged in as you move between pages, or remember items in a shopping cart. Without these cookies, certain services or features you request may not be possible.

  • Characteristics: Essential cookies are usually first-party cookies set by gg.xyz. Many are “session cookies” that last only until you close your browser. Some essential cookies may be “persistent” to remember your preferences (e.g. a cookie that saves your language preference or privacy settings) across visits.
  • Legal basis: Under GDPR and similar laws, we do not require your consent to place strictly necessary cookies, since they are needed to deliver the service you explicitly request. However, we still want to inform you about them and why they are used. These cookies do not collect personal data for marketing or profiling purposes – they are used only for the functionality and security of our site.

2. Analytics Cookies (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, to understand how visitors use our site. Google Analytics cookies collect information about your interactions with our site (such as pages visited, time spent on pages, and any errors encountered) in order to help us improve our website’s performance and user experience. All data collected through Google Analytics is aggregated and anonymized; we do not use these cookies to identify you personally.

  • Cookies and data collected: Google Analytics sets cookies like “_ga”, “_gid”, and “_gat” on your browser. For example, the `_ga` cookie is used to distinguish unique users and has a typical expiration of about 2 years, while `_gid` is used to distinguish users in a single day (expires after 24 hours). These cookies assign random ID numbers to your device/app browser to recognize returning visitors, which helps us count how many people visit and how they navigate our site. The information generated by these cookies (including your truncated IP address, in cases where we anonymize IP data) is transmitted to Google’s servers for analysis in aggregate form. We do not receive your precise personal identity information from analytics cookies – only statistical insights (e.g. total visitor counts, popular pages, usage patterns).
  • Purpose: These analytics cookies are classified as “statistics” or “performance” cookies – their sole purpose is to improve website functions and understand user experience trends. Importantly, these cookies are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. We have configured Google Analytics in a privacy-friendly manner (for instance, we may enable IP anonymization and disable Google’s data sharing/advertising features) to ensure compliance with GDPR and other regulations.
  • Third-party involvement: Although Google provides the analytics service, the cookies are treated as first-party cookies set for the gg.xyz domain in your browser. Google acts as our data processor for analytics. We do not allow Google to use analytics data for its own purposes beyond providing us the analytics reports. No other third parties have access to these analytics cookie details.
  • Consent requirement: Analytics cookies are not strictly necessary, so we only use Google Analytics with your consent. On your first visit, we will ask you whether you allow analytics cookies to be placed. Google Analytics will not be activated unless you opt in (agree) to analytics cookies. This approach is in line with GDPR’s requirement to obtain users’ consent before using any cookies that are not essential. If you decline or ignore the analytics consent option, we will respect that choice and no Google Analytics cookies will be set on your device.

3. No Third-Party Advertising Cookies

gg.xyz does not use any third-party advertising cookies or tracking cookies for marketing purposes. “Marketing” or advertising cookies are those that track your online activities across websites in order to deliver targeted ads or share information with ad networks. We have zero advertising or social media cookies embedded on our site. This means you will not be profiled for advertising through cookies when using gg.xyz, and no cookies on our site are used to send information about your browsing to advertisers. By not utilizing marketing cookies, we not only simplify your privacy choices but also align with regulations like COPPA that restrict advertising trackers on children’s websites. In short, any cookie used on gg.xyz is either essential for functionality or used solely for our own analytics, and never for third-party advertising.

Google Analytics – More Information and User Options

We want to clearly define the role of Google Analytics on gg.xyz and explain how you can control its use:

Role of Google Analytics: Google Analytics helps us measure how our website is used so we can continually improve content, navigation, and site performance. For example, it provides aggregated reports on overall site traffic, pages viewed, and user behavior flow. This insight is crucial for us to understand what is working well and what might need improvement, ultimately enhancing your experience. We use Google Analytics only for statistical analysis of our site’s usage. We do not use Google Analytics for any form of personalized advertising, nor do we tie analytics data to individual identities.

User Privacy Protections: We have taken steps to ensure Google Analytics is implemented in a privacy-conscious way. Wherever applicable, we enable settings such as IP anonymization (so that Google truncates the last octet of your IP address within the EU or other jurisdictions before storing it, which reduces the chance of identifying you). We also respect any Do Not Track signals or similar browser privacy settings if configured, by not loading analytics in those cases (if our systems detect such preferences). Additionally, we have adjusted Google Analytics’ data retention settings to avoid prolonged storage of user-level data. By default, Google Analytics allows data retention settings (e.g., auto-delete user and event data after 14 months, 26 months, etc.), and we ensure that personal data collected via analytics is not kept longer than necessary for aggregate analysis. This aligns with the GDPR and PDPA principle of storage limitation (personal data should be kept only for as long as needed for the purpose).

How to Disable or Opt Out of Google Analytics: You remain in control of whether Google Analytics operates during your visit. When you first visit gg.xyz, you will see a cookie consent banner (or similar prompt) that gives you the option to accept or decline analytics cookies. If you decline, Google Analytics will be disabled. If you accept but later change your mind, you can withdraw consent at any time. There are a few ways to do this:

  • Using our site’s cookie controls: We provide a cookie settings tool (for example, an icon or link on the website labeled “Cookie Preferences” or similar) that you can access at any time. Through this tool, you can toggle off Google Analytics or other non-essential cookies even after you initially accepted them. Once you save your updated preferences, our site will stop using those cookies and will delete them where possible. We make the process of withdrawing consent as easy as giving it – for instance, if acceptance was one click, opting out is also just one click.
  • Browser settings: Most web browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies. You can configure your browser to block cookies from Google Analytics (or all cookies) by default. You can also delete any existing cookies at any time through your browser’s settings. Keep in mind that blocking all cookies (including essential ones) might affect some functionality of the site, but blocking only analytics cookies will not significantly impact your use of our website beyond preventing us from collecting analytics data.
  • Google Analytics Opt-Out Plugin: Google provides an official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. You can install this add-on in your browser, which will prevent Google Analytics from collecting information from any site you visit (not just gg.xyz). This is a global opt-out solution. If you install and enable the extension, it tells the Google Analytics script not to send your visit data. Note that this is provided by Google and is subject to Google’s terms; using the add-on is a voluntary option for those who want an extra layer of opt-out on top of our website’s controls.

By offering these options, we ensure you can fully disable tracking if you wish. Opting out of analytics will have no effect on your access to our site – all of our content and core features will remain available to you even if you choose not to allow any analytics cookies. We believe in giving you a real choice: your experience on gg.xyz will not be diminished if you say “no” to non-essential cookies.

User Consent and Your Choices

Consent on First Visit: In compliance with GDPR and PDPA requirements, we use a cookie consent banner to obtain your consent before setting any non-essential cookies on your device. When you land on our site, you will be informed that we use cookies and given the option to consent or to manage your preferences. We clearly explain which cookies are which – for example, distinguishing essential cookies (which are always active due to site necessity) from analytics cookies (which are optional). We use simple, plain language in the banner/notice (avoiding legal or technical jargon) to make sure you understand what you are agreeing to.

You have the right to choose whether to accept cookies that are not strictly necessary. Our banner typically offers an “Accept All” option for convenience, and an “Reject All” or “Decline” option (or a way to opt out of each category like analytics) so you can easily refuse cookies if you want. We do not pre-check any opt-in boxes or assume your consent – cookies that require consent will remain inactive until you make a choice (no non-essential cookies are dropped by default). Simply put, we don’t use non-essential cookies unless you actively consent. If you close the banner or continue browsing without making a choice, we will treat that as a no-consent for non-essential cookies by default ) (in other words, we will only use essential cookies in that case).

Ongoing Choices and Withdrawal of Consent: After your initial decision, you can revisit your cookie preferences at any time (as described in the section above). We make it as easy to withdraw consent as it was to give it. For example, if our banner was one click to accept, then opting out later via our cookie settings tool is also just one or two clicks. There is no penalty or change in service if you withdraw consent – all site features will remain accessible. Additionally, you can always use browser controls to delete cookies. Removing cookies from your browser (or using a private/incognito mode) will essentially reset your preferences on our site, at which point we will prompt you for consent again on your next visit. We honor all withdrawal requests promptly.

Your Privacy Rights: The data collected by cookies, especially analytics cookies, may be considered “personal data” under laws like GDPR and PDPA if it can be linked to you (for example, via a unique identifier or IP address). Rest assured, we handle all personal data from cookies in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law. Under GDPR and PDPA, you have rights such as the right to access personal data we hold about you, the right to request deletion of personal data, and the right to object or restrict certain processing. This includes data obtained via cookies. If you believe our cookies have inadvertently collected personal data about you and you wish to exercise your data protection rights (e.g., to access or delete that information), you can contact us as described in the “Contact Us” section of this policy. We will facilitate your rights in line with our legal obligations. For Singapore users, we also follow PDPA requirements regarding consent and data management, and for EU users, your GDPR rights are fully supported.

Importantly, if you choose not to consent to any non-essential cookies, we will still allow you full access to the website (except for functions that inherently require cookies, such as maintaining a login session). We do not lock you out or degrade your experience if you refuse cookies – this policy reflects our commitment to user choice and privacy.

Cookie Retention and Expiration

We only retain cookies on your device for as long as necessary to fulfill their purposes, following industry best practices for data minimization and retention . Each cookie has an expiration term after which it will automatically be deleted by your browser. Below is an overview of how long cookies generally last on gg.xyz:

  • Session Cookies: Many of our essential cookies are session-based. This means they exist only temporarily while your browser is open and are erased once you close your browser or log out. For instance, a session cookie might keep you logged in as you navigate pages; when you end the session (close the browser), that cookie is removed.
  • Persistent Cookies: Some cookies have fixed longer lifespans. For example, the Google Analytics `_ga` cookie can persist for up to 24 months (2 years) unless you delete it sooner. Persistent cookies are used for recognizing returning visitors or remembering your preferences over time. We set reasonable expiration periods for persistent cookies based on their purpose. An example of a persistent cookie we use (aside from analytics cookies) could be a cookie that remembers your cookie consent decision, so that we don’t ask you every time you visit. This type of cookie might last a number of months or a year.
  • Retention Principles: We adhere to the principle of “no longer than necessary” for data retention. Different cookies have different purposes, so their durations are set accordingly. For analytics data, we regularly review Google Analytics settings to ensure that user-level data is not kept indefinitely (for instance, we might configure Google Analytics to auto-delete historical data after a certain number of months). Where possible, we choose shorter retention periods. Some jurisdictions provide specific guidelines or limits on cookie lifespan – for example, privacy regulators in some EU countries recommend not keeping non-essential cookies longer than 12 or 13 months. We take such recommendations into account. In any case, none of our cookies will survive beyond their set expiration, and your browser will automatically purge them. You can also manually delete cookies at any time (which overrides any set expiration).
  • Updates and Re-consent: If a cookie’s purpose changes or if we introduce a new cookie that requires consent, we will inform you and, if required, request consent again. We also periodically clean up cookies that are no longer in use or needed. Our goal is to avoid “cookie clutter” and ensure cookies aren’t lingering longer than justified.

Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Protecting children’s privacy is extremely important to us. gg.xyz is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through cookies or other means. In line with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), if we ever develop content or sections of our site geared toward kids, we will take special care to avoid using any cookies or trackers that could collect personal data from those users without verifiable parental consent. Specifically:

  • We do not use advertising or tracking cookies on any web pages designed for or likely to be used by children under 13, in accordance with COPPA’s requirements. (As noted above, we don’t use advertising cookies at all on our site, which ensures compliance in this area by default.)
  • If you are under 13, you should not use this site without permission and supervision from a parent or guardian. We do not intentionally set any cookies to target or profile children. The only cookies we might use in a children’s context (should our site ever have one) would be those strictly necessary for operation or perhaps basic analytics cookies that COPPA deems acceptable for internal site performance analysis.
  • Parents: If you believe your child under 13 may have used our site and we inadvertently collected personal information via cookies or otherwise, please contact us immediately. We will promptly investigate and delete any personal data collected from the child, as required by COPPA. We may also take steps to block such users from our site to prevent further data collection.

Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, legal requirements, or our practices. If we make any material changes, we will notify you by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy, and for significant changes we may provide a prominent notice (such as a site banner or an email notification, if appropriate). We encourage you to review this Cookie Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are using cookies.
